Why I signed up for "Equip To Serve"- to be better equipped. But what does that mean really? I wanted to grow and mature as a Christian and I was finding that mid-week Bible study and Sunday morning services were not enough to help me grow at the pace I wanted to. Most of my formation of the worldview and ways of thinking has come from the non-Christian world around me: public schools, university, the media, and my work place.
I was aware of my need to have my mind renewed; I felt prompted by God that the best way to do this is to spend more time in His Word learning His ways and in prayer. So when I heard about Equip To Serve at Missions Fest I decided it was what I needed. It is great because I learn with a group of people who are eager to grow and learn and we hold each other accountable. I am learning God's word and learning about sharing my faith and growing. I know that it is one more step in a learning process of following Christ that will last my lifetime.
