Valdemar’s July Update 2026

I continually thank my God for the ministry of Discipleship International. I am writing to share an update on my activities from April through June 2026…

We went on the Cuba 2026 mission trip, where six Mexican missionaries took part. It was an incredible blessing, because we were able to bring many items: medicines, food, candy, school supplies, soccer balls, and cash offerings, thanks to the support of Discipleship International and several brothers and sisters from Monterrey and Guadalajara.

Cuba has been a tremendous blessing for Discipleship International, since there are so many Cubans living in other countries, and they’ve been reaching out asking us to disciple them online from Mexico. Right now we have students on Zoom in Ecuador and Costa Rica, and doors are opening as well in Uruguay and Brazil with people we met during our time in Cuba.

The new group is a hybrid group, both in person and online, with people from Costa Rica, Ensenada, Monterrey, and the Cubans who are at home attending in person. We’re continuing in Ecuador with Lazaro and his wife, Idalmis, and we’re also in Book 5 with participants from Oaxaca.

We also have a leaders’ couples meeting on Wednesdays with Rafael and his wife, Ismael and his wife, Jessy and her husband, and Irma and me as well.

I feel truly blessed because the Canadian missionary Riley, who will be getting married in August to Diana, a young woman from Tehuacan, has invited me to officiate at their wedding. Since February, I’ve been giving them premarital counseling, which will conclude with the ceremony on August 1 of this year.

For now, Irma and I simply want to thank God and Discipleship International for allowing us to serve Him, and to keep in mind that our work for the Lord is never in vain.

Sincerely,

Irma and Valdemar
