Mimi Noso
Administrative Assistant
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and had the blessing of growing up in a Christian family. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour on January 16, 2000, and have been involved in various ministries at my local church in Monterrey, such as worship, evangelism, youth group, Sunday Bible School, and discipleship.
The first time I heard about Discipleship International was in the summer of 2016. My sister and I went to help with translation on a Saturday morning, and I really liked the Bridge Illustration as a tool for sharing the Gospel. Then, in the summer of 2017, I was asked by Valdemar Sánchez, DI Mexico’s Director, to support them as a translator for the Canadian missionaries who came on a missions trip to Monterrey, and I have been helping as a translator ever since.
I learned the Bridge Illustration, became involved in DI Mexico’s social media, and eventually started working on Discipleship International Canada social media as well. I took the ETS training online during the pandemic and graduated in the Summer of 2022.
I was invited to go as a translator on the Tehuacán missions trip in January 2022, and I was invited again for the Tehuacán and Pinotepa missions trip in December 2022. It was on that missions trip that I met my now husband, Zach Noso. We got married on May 11, 2024, and since then, I moved to Canada with him. Then, I was offered a job to be involved with DI’s staff as an Administrative Assitant.
I continue working on social media and other duties at the office, and I support my husband’s ministries, such as Street Evangelism in downtown Vancouver and the youth group at 19Twenty Church. I would like to continue going on mission trips when the opportunity arises and eventually teach ETS in English when I feel more confident. I would also like to teach it in my native language, Spanish. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for my husband and me in this new stage of life.
